Abstract

Comprehensive evaluation of periodontal diseases comprises the dental case history, the assessment of periodontal records, x-rays and the update of medical history, current medications, allergic disposition including treatment plan and preliminary charges. In advanced periodontal disease and implant planning, indepth advices for microbial testing and antibiotic treatment are presented. With the present chapter, dental practitioners and hygienists obtain a practical guide for a contemporary, patientoriented diagnosis of periodontitis and assessment of implant placement.
